Gosh

Currently furiously researching 3 final essays, one re: an averred right to have children (which is an alternate way of saying the state should fund IVF).

While reading a largely helpful book named “Making Babies” by Mary Warnock (Baroness and Professor of Philosophy, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Warnock), I came across the chapter “Why do homosexuals want children?” which starts

It is almost inevitable that one should raise the question of the motive of homosexuals who seek assisted reproduction.  Why do they want to have children?  If, as much surely sometimes be the case, their motive is at least partly political—to make a point about ‘gay rights’, or as a feminist gesture, to prove that women do not need men—then the child they have is being used to their interests, or for the interests of their campaign, and this is a poor basis for family life.  Yet this may not be a completely clear-cut argument.  Many homosexuals, both men and women, see themselves, justly, as unusually loving and sympathetic people, the very kind of people who will understand and cherish a child.

To reiterate, gosh.
